Quick verdict: doesn’t live up to the promise. Not that it won’t, some day. But what they shipped needs more work.

Random notes:

As a set-top box, there are a few good points. While the keyboard remote is a little big, it is nice to have a keyboard. Makes it a lot easier to navigate websites or do searches. The “remote” is actually a Logitech Harmony device which means it can be used on hundreds of controllable devices, including the TV and cable box. Have not tried the additional functionality for yet, but I already have a Harmony, and am used to all the great things it can do. Three is one button that represents a “menu” and it should have been located on the right side with the other short-cut keys.

The browser is Chrome, and it works just like on a PC.

When Google TV is part of the TV set itself it will be more usable that as a set-top box.

Finally getting the hang of it. Added a gallery to a Feature page. Added photos via uploads and photos via links. Starting to take shape. Justin made me a nice Webteams logo for the upper right corner. Thinking I like the colour scheme. Going well for now. Gonna make this live, now (5:33 pm edt).
